Abstract Submission
Final Deadline for Abstract Submission: 1st of October 2009
The deadline for the submission of abstracts has been extended to the 1st of October. Abstracts received after the final deadline will not be included in the abstract book or the programme as oral presentations. All presentations need to be accompanied by an abstract and details on abstract submission are given in the subsection of the website under Call for Abstracts.
Accommodation
Final Deadline for Accommodation: 1st of October 2009
A small number of rooms are available until the 1st of October at the same price and conditions as those previously announced. Allocation will be on first come first served basis. When booking your room refer to your status as a participant of the 19th ICOC conference. After the 1st of October any available rooms will be released to the general public and room prices will be higher. There are no other hotels at a walking distance or in the close vicinity of the venue hotel, which however could be reached from the central or other parts of London by underground train.
Other information
1. 'Priority club' membership is a reward scheme for people who stay at Holiday inn. Further information at the link www.priorityclub.com
2. There is a complimentary shuttle bus going backwards and forward from the hotel to Brent Cross underground station (Northern Line, Edgware branch). When you get to the station you should call 02082018790 and ask for the shuttle bus (free of charge). There is also the 210 bus which stops just before the hotel as well.
3. Bedroom description: double room single occupancy is a double bed for 1 person. Double room double occupancy is a double bed shared by 2 people.
4. Local tourist attractions: Brent Cross shopping centre (opposite the hotel, walking distance), Wembley stadium, Welsh Harp reservoir (swans and ducks), RAF museum.
Travel in London
The most convenient, fastest and cheapest way to travel from London Heathrow airport to the Hotel (Nearest station Brent Cross underground station Northern Line, Edgware branch) and within London in general is by using the underground trains
On arrival participants can obtain the visitors Oyster card, which is prepaid and can be used for travel within London and from and to London Heathrow airport. It is a convenient and cheap way to travel in buses and underground trains. For further information: www. oyster card London

PUBLICATION OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE 19th ICOC IN THE JOURNAL HEMOGLOBIN:
Arrangements have been made for the publication of selected papers of the
proceedings of the 19th ICOC in the journal Hemoglobin. The papers will be
selected from the submitted abstracts by a panel of the scientific committee. The authors of the selected papers will be informed about the selection of their papers after the completion of the conference.
